Industry expertise:

1. What qualifies you as a coach/trainer?
My empathetic view of the potential and resources of my clients, both through my business studies and over 10 years of professional experience in the private sector, as well as through my many years of intensive experience as a systemic coach, supervisor and mediator. With reliable intuition and the professional clarity required, I accompany my clients empathetically through their change process.

My personal career path was not always straightforward. I often asked myself critically whether I could have avoided some of the detours along the way!

Today I am happy about my “ups and downs”, about my “wrong” decisions, my detours – about everything that I was able to learn and experience. Even if it was not always obvious and even painful at times, I needed every step on my path to be able to stand exactly here today! These intensive experiences accompany me very helpfully in my responsible personal work.

I love my job and it is a matter close to my heart to accompany people attentively, to strengthen their ability to be themselves and to get them into action.

2. What do your clients say about you?

Extract of references on my homepage (https://kathrincontzen.de/referenzen-2/)

“… Thank you for a lot of empathetic encouragement and warm motivation, for the relentless encouragement and the competent personal support.”

“I like working with Ms. Contzen because she never loses sight of the people behind the work processes….”

“… she does this sometimes with targeted questions that bring about the right insight, sometimes with open, clear and direct words that distort your own reflection in the mirror and sometimes with small exercises that ground you and put you back on your feet….”

3. What drives you and what is your favorite task as a coach/trainer?
In times of personal special circumstances, I have learned to really appreciate the support and assistance of experienced experts. I was and am lucky enough to be able to learn through further training, coaching, self-awareness and through life itself.

I would like to give something back. I offer my life experience, my sound training, my expertise and my big heart to those who need support.

More and more people seeking help and traumatized people come to my practice. They want to be heard and need understanding for their stressful situation. The plight of many people seeking help, which has become even more present in the past 2 years, affects me. There is a lack of therapists, especially in the field of trauma therapy. Colleagues and I have organized ourselves into an association (Federal Association for Needs-Based Emergency Aid BAGbN). We work on a voluntary basis and our motivation is: We don’t leave anyone behind!

This thought drives me and applies to my entire area of work as a coach!

4. What is the best way to switch off?
My Labrador dog is a wonderful source of strength for me. We go out into nature as much as possible, we love the forests.

I try to be mindful of myself, especially through sport and meditation. Both are balm for my soul.

5. How do you recognize a good coach?
I expect a coach to listen carefully so that he can ask you the right individual motivating questions that get to the heart of the matter and can also be uncomfortable.

The coach lets you get to know and appreciate your resources and is very interested in you, the client, being able to develop your own personal process further, strengthened by the coaching.

The coach should know his limits. If questions arise during the coaching process that exceed the coach’s area of expertise, he should of course support his client in finding the right help/support.
