1. What qualifies me as a coach/trainer?

Generally speaking: My interest in people and their individual life paths. My empathy. My ability to listen well and ask the “right” questions.

What else? The ability to build a trusting coaching relationship: my attitude is characterized by appreciation and openness towards people.

My comprehensive methodological competence – always focused on the client’s current situation and the context of their topics and questions.

My many years of industrial professional experience, including in the Bosch Group.

My in-depth systemic coaching training and special further training in hypnosystemic concepts with Gunter Schmidt, Heidelberg.

2. What do you find most fulfilling about your job?

Accompanying a wide variety of people on their life paths, be it in private coaching or in a professional context. I am always excited to see how clients rediscover hidden strengths and characteristics. The diverse, positive feedback from my clients and their visible development.

3. What do your clients say about you?

He creates a trusting and open atmosphere in which I could open up and feel understood. He approaches his clients with respect – he listens well. His style of support and how he encourages me to reflect on myself and my life. In particular, the way he asks questions has given me new perspectives that have changed my life. His coaching has enabled me to develop personally.

4. What drives you and what is your favorite task as a coach/trainer?

Supporting other people and being able to encourage them to improve their own performance and make changes.

5. What are you particularly proud of when you think about your career?

When customers recommend me to others or come back to me with new topics.

6. How will digitization change the general coaching business? And how will you deal with it?

Digitization expands the possibilities of coaching, for example through online “presence”. This creates completely different possibilities. This makes simple and time-saving coaching support possible. I see the expanded possibilities and adapt my offer accordingly.

7. What is the best way to switch off?

By doing nothing… and by cycling in nature and on quiet paths away from the (traffic) noise.

8. What possibilities does individual coaching offer – and where do you possibly reach your limits?

Individual coaching enables a change of perspective in a protected space in order to be able to try things out and have new experiences. With this broader view of things and new experiences, life becomes easier and makes further or new steps in personal development possible. It creates space for further learning and gradual reorientation towards a more intensive life.

The limits of change are determined solely by the client.

9. How do you recognize a good coach?

A good coach aligns his actions and behavior entirely with the needs of his clients. This can be experienced in the way he builds relationships and the type of questions he asks. He tries to empathize with his clients’ world as much as possible, knowing that it is always “only” an approach. What is “good and right” for the client is not determined by the coach, but by the client alone.

10. In your own words: What does a coach do?

He accompanies people temporarily and supports them in finding their own solutions to their problems. According to the motto “help for self-help”, he helps his clients to broaden their perspective and create further options for action and behavior. He encourages them to take small steps towards change and redesign for a better life.
