1. What qualifies you as a coach/trainer?
On the one hand, my solid education and my extensive professional experience, and on the other, my multifaceted CV with a wide variety of perspectives on work and life and the balance between the two.
After my studies, I worked for 15 years as a brand strategist and management consultant, both as a manager and as a freelancer for a wide variety of agencies and companies. In the course of this, I was able to advise the Champions League of brands, including internationally. I gained insights into a wide variety of industries, from A for automobiles to Z for newspapers, B2C and B2B, large corporations and SMEs. During this time, I coached entrepreneurs and managers from a wide variety of industries and company types, led numerous workshops, and dealt intensively with qualitative market research and consumer insight. I have always been interested in what makes people tick and what influences their behavior. I also researched this in my doctoral thesis.
In 2011, my husband and I left our successful high-speed life and traveled the world on a sailboat for five years. During this stormy time, we mastered many adventures, extreme experiences, and also crises. We processed our experiences in a book in which, in addition to our experiences, we also share ten insights for a happy, fulfilled life, underpinned by the latest research.
The time off led to a fundamental change in values and a professional reorientation. This was followed by training as a business coach and business trainer, both of which were additionally certified by the dvct (German Association for Coaching and Training e.V.). I also completed various further training courses in positive psychology and motivational interviewing.
My mission is to help people live happy and fulfilled lives, both professionally and privately. I do this today as a coach, trainer, management consultant, and author.
2. What do you find most fulfilling about your job?
My mission is to help people live happy and fulfilled lives, both professionally and privately. I help (new) entrepreneurs to develop a clear compass for their business and to align it so that it can grow and thrive and they get the feeling that they have their business under control. I see myself not only as a sparring partner for my clients but as an energizer who motivates and inspires them. And as a challenger who lets them leave their comfort zone and surpass themselves.
I love accompanying my clients to gain clarity about what they want for their lives. Helping them to define goals and remove the obstacles that have held them back so far. These include, above all, beliefs and programming that have been established over many years.
It is wonderful when I see the eyes of my coachees light up. When they have aha moments and it “clicks”. When the mission – which they already carry within themselves – has been found and the possible routes suddenly lie crystal clear in front of them. When clients tell me that they are absorbed in driving their own business forward or that they have found their dream job.
I believe that everything we need to live up to our full potential is already within us – we just have to uncover it. As a coach, I can help people do just that.
3. What do your clients say about you?
Here are a few original quotes that clients have published on Google or Trustpilot, among other places:
“Kerstin has a very inspiring personality.”
“Kerstin gave me a lot of support in designing and building my company. She managed to motivate me again and again and also take a step back and see whether I was still on the right path. Without Kerstin, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
“For me, Kerstin is a born coach. She is very empathetic and with her very good intuition and the right questions she helped me to recognize my own hurdles, show me ways to overcome them, and recognize my own potential.”
“Empathetic, individual, competent, and professional – that is how coaching with Kerstin can be described.”
“Kerstin is a great listener and fishes out the right topics very precisely and to the point. She succeeds wonderfully in sorting out thoughts together and deriving concrete and usable action steps.”
“Kerstin exudes so much positive energy that it really motivates you to keep going.”
“Kerstin’s coaching helped me a lot to find my dream job! Each of her coaching tasks and every small step I took makes sense.”
“Kerstin helped my company and me a lot. She guided me through all the challenges, supported my ideas, and worked with me Solutions have been developed.”
“I felt lost in my career and didn’t know what to do next. Kerstin made me see my strengths and use them in new ways.”
“Kerstin’s skills and mindset are absolutely inspiring! She showed me a clearer path in life.”
4. What drives you and what is your favorite task as a coach/trainer?
My motivation is my mission: to help people live happy and fulfilled lives, both privately and professionally. Whether as a founder, entrepreneur, or employee.
Every coaching session is a journey. The general route is usually clear, but where we will end up together is always astonishing. Curiosity about this also drives me.
My favorite tasks as a coach and trainer:
- Inspiration, motivation, energization
- Supporting people in reorientation, in finding meaning and discovering their own mission, which becomes a driving force for their whole life
- Finding focus for their own business or the rest of their life
- Removing obstacles that stand in the way of developing potential (beliefs, programming, fears)
- Mindset training, i.e. developing and training new thought patterns that support the development of potential and a fulfilled life
- Female empowerment / strengthening self-esteem (because far too many women underestimate themselves and therefore stand in their own way)
5. In your own words: What does a coach do?
My conviction: Everything we need to use our potential and live happily and fulfilled is already present in us as humans. A coach helps to uncover exactly that. To gain clarity about needs, goals, and obstacles. To explore the universe of possibilities. To look at challenges from new perspectives. To see the forest for the trees again.
Ultimately, coaching is about helping people help themselves. A coach is a self-development assistant. He supports clients in developing an attractive, motivating vision for the future, promoting their self-reflection and self-perception, and strengthening their personal resources. By enabling a change of perspective and expanding the range of possibilities, the coach contributes to finding solutions.
My understanding of coaching is based on the systemic approach. Coaching is not possible any other way, because as dynamic beings, we humans are constantly interacting with our environment. It is therefore essential to include the changing dynamics of the environment in every coaching process.
My coaching approach is positive coaching, a science-based, strength-focused process that applies concepts and tools from positive psychology. The aim is to promote the personal growth of my clients beyond the process of actually solving problems. This way, they come closer to their potential and can grow beyond themselves.
