1. What qualifies you as a coach/trainer?
Passion for supporting development processes, specialist knowledge in the fields of psychology, human resources, and organizational development, many years of experience as a coach for job seekers and start-up consultant for self-employed people, a tried and tested repertoire of methods, including for dealing with self-doubt and accusations, as well as a high degree of empathy and sorting skills.
2. What drives you and what is your favorite task as a coach/trainer?
In the beginning, I often compare working as a job coach and start-up consultant for self-employed people with laying a mosaic: First, you have to gather all the pieces of the mosaic together (in the case of job coaching, primarily talents, professional qualifications, interests, values, goals) in order to then look at what fits together and how, what degree or qualification may still be missing, what beliefs may be a hindrance and should be sorted out.
For me, developing a coherent target image from these mosaic pieces in dialogue with the coachee and developing strategies for achieving the goal, which can then be implemented step by step, perfectly combines creativity and structured work.
3. How will digitalization change the general coaching business? And how will you deal with it?
In recent years, digitalization has led to coaching via telephone and internet now having a firm place on the market. In job coaching in particular, some topics, e.g. support with job searches or the preparation of application documents, work faster and better online than in person.
At the same time, there are often topics where thinking alone does not help. In order to get stuck thoughts moving again, movement is needed. That’s why I still like to coach in person in my consulting room in Hamburg Barmbek-Süd.
